#Double dragon neon release date ps3 Patch#
Supposedly there's a patch coming, in the meantime invite a friend over and enjoy some amazing couch co-op, because it's totally worth it. One important thing: The game does NOT have online multiplayer (yet), and multiplayer not only is much more fun, but also a lot easier (thanks to the "high five" maneuver, which boosts your stats for a couple of seconds). Double Dragon Neon is a nice, passionate remake of the 1987 game we all know and love. The controls are not refined, but it's nostalgic, engaging, and worth the ten-dollar asking price. Also, the main villain, Skullmageddon (a Shredder wannabe with the voice of Skeletor from Masters of the Universe), definitely deserves it's own game. Neon is probably the best Double Dragon game yet, and it contains enough great elements it to warrant a sequel or two. The graphics look great in motion, and the 2D art is a sight to behold, the music is simply amazing (assuming you're old enough to appreciate 80's music), the controls have been revamped to make the game more dynamic, and feel less archaic than previous DD (though it does retains certain stiffness, but nothing too serious), the level up system is addictive, and probably most important: The game is incredibly hilarious, it NEVER takes itself seriously, and that totally pays off (this could be a bit of an annoyance for hardcore Double Dragon fans), the dialogues and comments are so dumb they're funny, the exaggerated 80's style is ridiculous, even some moves are silly! (Don't believe me? How many games have you played that let your character beatbox? And your second player DANCE to that beatbox music?).

I love beat 'em ups, but Double Dragon II for the NES aside, I never cared much for the adventures of Billy and Jimmy (I've always been a Final Fight kind of guy), but WayForward (the makes of a lot of high quality platformer games, and quite possibly the best Contra ever) came through once again, and delivered an incredibly fun and addictive game. By Acid_Kitsune | Review Date: SeptemI was one of the many (pretty much everyone, I'm sure) that thought this game was going to be a disaster, now I have over 20 hours on it, and I just can't stop playing it.
